About this work
Blue underglaze — cobalt painted beneath the glaze and fired at high heat — is the soul of traditional Bát Tràng ware. Across the body, lotus blossoms are hand-painted stroke by stroke, never from a template, so no two vases are alike.
The lotus stands for purity. Such a vase suits a refined living space — holding a single real lotus stem in summer, or left empty as a sculpture.
